April Mix: "Shade & Aura" Vol. 2 - Aura [Light Mix]
.jpg)
Neverrain Listeners,
The wait is over. Volume 2 of the two part series: "Shade & Aura" is here.
I will keep my words brief this time around, and let the set speak for itself.
I will, however, let you know that I have brought back a few classic tracks from my days in the underground, songs that taught me to see the light, even in times of darkness. The vinyl is extremely old and was put through many harsh conditions (such as live desert sets where dust storms would literally blow sand across the records). Fortunately, I've digitally remastered them exclusively for this set and worked them in via CD decks. Although the sound quality might not be up to par with what you are used to, I am sure the essence of the songs will reach you just the same.
Set aside about 2 hours for the journey, put on your headphones, and crank the volume.
This is "Aura".
Godspeed.

"Set aside an hour & 15 minutes for the journey..."
The file I got is 1:56; not that I'm complaining! I'm about halfway through and loving it!
I just recently discovered neverrain and have been going back and downloading all the months I've missed. Keep up the amazing work!

Dave,
You are right, thanks for catching that. I think I noted the duration a little too early during the encoding process.
Thanks again,

April Mixes are always longest? But I'm sure this mix's the longest so far. Last year April's Sakura mix is the second longest. Am I right?
Anyway, thanks for it. :)

As others have remarked, this is an incredibly powerful set that took me on a truly epic journy. I love the almost 2 hour long time span of this mix. I actually don't know what to say any more. Both this and the dark mix are both phenomenal, Eric. And you should be really pleased with all your mixes, most notably this one though - simply breath taking. When I have a spare 3 hours I will listen to dark mix and then light mix back to back, I know that will be amazing. But the last track in this mix is so refreshing and relaxing, so breathtaking, and was a nice way to finish up this truely amazing mix.

The contrast between the two mixes is so great that I cannot help but smile with happiness upon completing the sets. Each set captures feelings with the right stuff needed, and then some. I thank you for two fantastic mixes which have both earned favorite spots in my music library.

Hey Eric.
i was disappointed from the March Remix Dark. This totally makes up for the last one. I guess im into more light music. This may actually be your best one yet. I was still listening to 'beyond' for two months. now i fresh new track.
Thanks so much for this.
So far my favorite
ShadeAura v2
Beyond

Sakura
Keep up the great work.
PS. i love how you do this as a hobby and dont charge people for this. It truly shows that not everyone in this world is out for money and some just do it for their personal enjoyment and the enjoyment of others.
Warm Thanks ~statix.

Statix,
The March Mix (Volume 1 of Shade & Aura) was very difficult for me to spin. Just like you, I do not like dark music, however I was trying to make a point with this 2 part series...that you can't truely appreciate the light without first having experienced the darkness. As much as we want the world to be perfect, life is about overcoming challenges and difficult times that test our ability to be strong, to be good human beings and fight our way through to the light.
So, in summary, although I do not prefer dark music...it was necessary for me to create Volume 1 ("Shade") in order to give contrast to the light. And, I think, by hearing your comments about liking Volume 2 so much...I think I accomplished what I set out to do.
Thank you for your support, and for living in the light.

Hi Eric!
Congratulations for the new set. Perfec selection, perfect mix.
Astrix surprised me for because it has being more psychedelic (full on mornig).
As dj, of this style, always that I can, play some musics of it.
I wanna know if you mix your own sets using CDJS or others programs?
One more time, Congratulations!

Love the mix. After losing track of time - a bit past half way I started to ponder whether your mix was done and my playlist had resumed. Turns out your mix was still going. Goes to show you I totally dig it and the light style.
After reading more about the darkness vs. light contrast in music, I've gained more appreciation for it. It's like reading about a painting that at first glance is just alright but after searching for the info, it becomes a favorite.
You should pick up creative writing too ;)

Wow, now THAT'S an electronica set! The music from 2A v2 at the end was a nice touch. :) I listened to Shade & Aura back to back while I was doing some work today, three hours went by in what seemed like a minute.
Are you going to compose more original music in the future? I always thought that "It never rains in Los Angeles," intro was really neat.

Hello Eric,
A very nice set indeed!
We are very fortunate to receive your work without cost. A true humanitarian. I would like to say that all of your
sets are amazing including the "dark" ones.
Cheers,

Dude, how do you do it? I already commented on this, but then I listened to Shade and Aura back to back a couple more times. You might've encountered a problem with these mixes - most people might not be honest enough with themselves and sufficiently in tune with the emotional nature of the human being in order to really appreciate these two mixes.
Shade moves you into the most dissatisfied, cynical mood that there could ever be, one that overly-stressed workers can readily accept. Then, over the couse of 116 minutes that seem like 1 minute, Aura pumps you up and reminds you that you control your own fate, and that the rewards of discipline culminate into the perfect destiny: the destiny of your own choosing.
You have GOT to write an article if you have time; try to verbalize how you sense the messages in the tones. I don't know of anyone else alive who could've pieced this together.

just a short note to say many thanks. Your most recent mix is lifting me out of a deep rut. Reminds me once again how important it is to seek out new input to stay fresh.
Thanks for the gift.
