January Mix: "Neuro"

Neverrain_January2007_Neuro.jpg

Neverrain listeners,

Here comes my 1st mix of the new year. It took me quite some time to finalize the tracklisting for this month, because at the moment there is a huge trend occuring in the dance music industry that greatly effects all DJs who spin in the progressive style, both house and trance. Minimal techno is the current flavor of the industry, and all the better-known DJs and producers have migrated to either spinning it or producing it. Ever some of the former epic trance DJs have moved to the Minimal sound. While I understand and appreciate Minimal, I cannot fathom why so many people have begun spinning it. It appears that they are just doing what everyone else is doing. This is also having an impact on the production side of the coin. Unfortunately, because everyone is producing Minimal records, there are not a lot of good progressive house/trance tracks coming out at the moment. But through extensive searching, and going through my archives, I have managed to pull together a set list that I stand by as a progressive DJ. I cannot spin something that I don't feel with my heart, it needs to move me...to speak to me in a certain way. And so in my usual style, I bring you an hour of great music that will hopefully move you as much as it does me.

This is Neuro.....enjoy.

P.S.: I have begun adding album art to my mixes this year, so for those of you that use iTunes you will now see covers for all future mixes I release.

Now that's what I call album art!

I admire you keeping your grounds and mixing what you feel is right. Indeed, I have noticed the change in production balance as well.

    Keep up the great work!

    Hello Eric,
First time I been to the site. 2Advanced has always been the epitome of web design and decided to check out who were the core components of this phenomenal company. Low and behold I find you and decide to see what your site was about. To my surprise it is loaded with breath taking music that flows through the soul.

Not only are you an expert in the "business" field in the personal/music mogul of your life you have mastered the art of trance. Tiesto is my favourite artist but seems to be fading to the likes of Van Dyk and Van Buuren.

Do you aspire to conquer these legends? Also, do you perform at weedings? lol... planning to get married next year or sometime in that area.

you should check out "The Sessions Recordings" from time to time - C-Jay and his mates are still producing quality progressive house music :)

I should consider myself lucky that I am of the same generation and able to watch your growth through the years. Much respect. Ever any plans to spin in Atl, GA?

    I love this. Good job.

I think the real problem is that there's not enough producers making really good electro & minimal sounds, so you end up hearing the same "hit" songs like 4 times in one night in three different clubs, which is lame.

Making this site into a podcast would be really great. We could subscribe to it in iTunes and tell it to keep the last (1) podcast and it would download in the background when you released a new mix and replace the last one automatically. You would be praised highly by many (more than you are now?)
