August Mix: "Ultrasonic"

Neverrain listeners,
It's my birthday this month, so I've decided to give myself a little present that I hope you will enjoy just as much as me.
This month's mix, Ultrasonic, is a rollercoaster of epic trance & tech-house tracks that are closest to my heart. What I have done is put together a mix of of my all-time favorite tracks which I rarely spin live, because they are either already highly-popularized by other DJs or they simply don't fit into the dynamics of my typical live sets. Most often when I play live, I try to bring new sounds to my sets, something people have never heard before...which makes it rare that you will hear me pull these out of my record bag on stage. But this month, I am making an exception and rolling them all into this 1 and a half hour long set.
These tracks, in my opinion, represent the very essence of epic trance/house music. They demonstrate the amazing ability that electronic music has to portray all the elements of the human condition; love, tragedy, sadness, weakness, strength and hope...often through pure electronic sound alone and very few lyrics. This is why I became a DJ, so that I could tell stories though my sets and run through the entire gamut of human emotion, from mystery to illumination, from the dark to the light. I don't think there is any better example than this month's set.
Some of you may have heard many of these tracks before, and I hope you will enjoy hearing them again. For those who have not heard these tracks...well, I envy you. Because the first time I heard them, they sent tingles up my spine and I have never forgotten where I was or what I was doing when I first heard them.
So please, put on your best headphones and enjoy the sounds of this very special journey...the August Neverrain set: "Ultrasonic".

Happy Birthday, Eric! Thank you for your ability for conveying your love for the work you do and also for permitting whoever visits this blog to share the special climate that "month after month" emerges from the productions posted. Music that I relate to my mood and which becomes background music in my daily work.

Hi Eric,
first of all, Happy B'day. I'm also an august born.
Now, about ur mix, last 30-35 mins are absolutly brilliant.
I like choice of tracks in that part & mixing is also equally good. That part has music i like to hear.
- a suggestion - please provide a cue sheet for ur mixes, and if possible for all mixes.

Dope…always full of surprises…I wasn't able to make it to NeverRain (deadlines), but this sounds awesome so far. If while listening I have some deep, philosophical revelation about what the bird at the end of "THX-1138" really means, I'll write again.
;)
By the way, I saw the V4 fall apart and explode (I hipped a bunch of collegues to it)…that was cool, dude.
Happy Birthday, and thanks for the tunes, the experiences, and the inspiration.
P.S. You should check out "Pandora's Star" by Peter F. Hamilton…it's got some pretty tripped out futuristic concepts in it that I'm sure you'd dig on.Peas.

(nV me;) This is the first time I've had the pleasure of listening to your work. Ultrasonic is flawless. When I heard that one of the founders of 2Advanced was also a DJ - I thought could one guy have that much creative energy? Impressive Eric Jordan! Thank you for sharing the mastery of your skills.

Hello,
I've been watching your work for the last 7 years and can still remember the first web site which then became the first 2advanced.com site.
To me it was clear from the first time that your creativity was about to make its mark on the web.
Take care and keep up the good work cause it's a standard for many of us.
cheers

This morning I woke up early trying to make it to the barber shop before the new years rush. So I was listening to ColdPlay on the way.. X&Y for those who care to know. Greatest Band for now... Anyways.. I saw a bright flash on the floor of my car. It was a CD. I leaned forward and there it was the dam CD I was looking for, for over a month. My Ultrasonic CD, yes the one Eric worked so tirelessly on I finally found the music that inspired me to go beyond the realm of the ordinary, the CD that spoke to my inner creative being. Thank you Eric thank you for such a masterful piece of music.
When will you incorporate your style into symphony type styles such as the in game music in “Final fantasy”?
PS
You keep on creating such great music such as Ultrasonic I might go super SAYAN and defeat you in the Battle For The Future (pixelone laughs)….
Keep pushing us to be our best. Sincerely Andre AKA
